Guwahati: Former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi spoke in Guwahati on September 25. He gathered with students at the Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium for a singing event. The program, titled Namami Bharatam, marked the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. Vidya Bharati Northeast organized the day to celebrate cultural unity. The event featured a synchronized performance of the national song.
Dwivedi spoke as an alumnus of Saraswati Shishu Mandir. He pushed the youth to build the nation through attitude, adaptability, and ability. He wants India to be a developed nation by 2047. Students must fix problems rather than just point them out. He instructed the crowd to learn, unlearn, and relearn. The general insisted that tech skills must stay grounded in local values. He noted, "The Northeast is not the place where India ends, but the place from where India begins. It is the true gateway to the nation."
He offered a simple morning routine for success. He calls it the Zero-Ten method. Spend ten minutes off your phone each morning. Use the time to set goals and show gratitude. Vidya Bharati leader Dr. Pawan Tiwari noted the region's spiritual and military past. He highlighted figures like Maa Kamakhya, Srimanta Sankaradeva, and Ahom general Lachit Borphukan. Other guests included Air Vice Marshal Sanjeev Bordoloi, Dr. Jagadindra Ray Choudhury, Kulendra Kumar Bhagwati, Gaurav Kalita, and Meenakshi Das.
