Dancer Alleges Organiser Forced Pills On Himashree Boro Before Death

Guwahati: A fellow dancer claims an event organiser named Govind forced Himashree Boro to swallow mystery weight-gain pills. The 20-year-old student from Guwahati died after going missing on a train journey home from Andhra Pradesh. The performer alleged that Govind demanded thin women take two tablets daily to alter their appearance. Four women, including Boro, eventually obeyed after Govind threatened to pull them from future shows. They swallowed the pills for two weeks without knowing what was inside them.

The troupe travelled through the state for weddings and hotel gigs. The witness also accused Govind of sexual misconduct. Performers stayed silent because he threatened to withhold their pay if they tried to quit early. "The women initially refused to consume the pills," the source claimed.

Boro was a student at B Borooah College. She finished a dance gig in Visakhapatnam and hopped on the Kanniyakumari-Dibrugarh Vivek Express on October 6. She texted family and friends from the S2 coach. She felt uneasy because nearby men appeared drunk. Contact cut off early that day. Railway police later found her belongings in the carriage. They pulled her body from tracks between the Dusi and Ponduru stations in the Srikakulam district.

The Government Railway Police currently leads the investigation. Authorities are checking CCTV and phone logs. Officials suspect a fall from the train. Her family suspects murder.
