Kohima: The District Youth Resources and Sports Office hosted the District Level Youth Festival 2026 on September 16 at the MDSC Indoor Hall in Dimapur. Eight groups competed to demonstrate their skills in folk song, folk dance, and declamation. Winners now advance toward the state-level selection process where officials will choose eight teams from 17 districts.
DYRSO Wutsutho opened the event by addressing the crowd. He told the participants, "The festival was an opportunity for young people to build confidence, foster unity and develop sportsmanship."
Results arrived by the end of the day. KSUDC took first place in folk dance while SSUDC grabbed second. Aotsür claimed the top spot in folk song, edging out the Kentener Cultural Club. Hetisa T Sangtam won the declamation category and Achunjanger Aier placed second. Wutsutho handed out prizes before closing the event with a vote of thanks, according to the State DIPR.
