Kohima: Kohima District Magistrate B. Henok Buchem officially banned all parking along a specific stretch of National Highway-29. This new rule took effect immediately. It covers the area below the Belho Gas Godown, specifically between Chainage 179+250 km and 179+350 km.
Drivers must clear their trucks and cars now. The order follows a direct request from the Executive Engineer of PWD, NH Division-I, and findings from the Joint Verification Committee of NH-29. Authorities aim to keep traffic moving. They also want to prioritize road safety for all commuters.
Officials issued a stern warning for those who ignore the mandate. Any vehicle found in the prohibited zone faces swift consequences. "Any vehicle found violating the directive would be towed away and the owners penalised under relevant legal provisions," the order states. Local authorities expect immediate compliance to avoid towing fees and further legal trouble.
