Kohima: The Joint Action Committee for the Kohima-Jessami Road on NH-29 issued a hard deadline. They demand contractor M/s Ratna Infrastructure Project Ltd and the NHIDCL move all necessary machinery and materials to the site by October 30. Patience is gone.
The ultimatum came after a Wednesday meeting at the Red Cross building in Kohima. Stakeholders including the Chakhesang frontal organizations, along with Pochury, Sangtam, and Angami representatives, gathered to address what they call persistent negligence. Village leaders from Kezoma also attended the session.
The JAC passed two formal resolutions. The first demands the company honor its written promises. "In the event of failure to fulfil the said assurance, the JAC shall be compelled to initiate any appropriate action, and the company shall be solely responsible for all consequences arising therefrom," the group stated. Resolution two mandates that the NHIDCL and the EPC contractor for Package-1 immediately fix the damaged road sections according to their original contract agreement.
JAC Convenor Vivolie Kezo released the update. The committee intends to hold the firm accountable for any fallout if the deadline passes without action.
