Kohima: The Lions Club of Dimapur, District 322D, shipped emergency supplies to families across Mon, Longleng, and Tuensang. Recent floods and landslides forced the move. The aid arrived quickly. Financial backing came from the Lions Clubs International Foundation, known as LCIF.
Dr. Neena Dutta led the operation with P.K. Jain serving as chairman. The distribution network varied by location. They funneled supplies through the Konyak Union in Mon. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioners handled the logistics for Longleng and Tuensang.
Crates contained rice, dal, edible oil, soybean, and biscuits. The group also packed chocolates, bedsheets, mosquito nets, salt, potatoes, onions, and milk. They sent these items to provide immediate relief to those hit hardest by the disaster.
The club confirmed its dedication to ongoing humanitarian efforts. They stand with the survivors. "The initiative was aimed at providing immediate assistance to families affected by the calamity," the club stated. Members remain ready to help when future crises hit.
