Kohima: The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) delivered aid to 48,000 people following the 2026 monsoon. Widespread floods and landslides destroyed homes and crops. AIDA stepped in. The group partnered with Amazon and Nestlé to distribute 9,200 family relief kits and 2,000 educational kits.
Operations began July 7 in Dhemaji, Assam. Teams handed out 150 hygiene and 150 dry ration kits in Shantipur and Raba Khatani. By July 8, the effort shifted to Yazali in Arunachal Pradesh. Another 200 hygiene and 200 ration kits reached Poosa and Pitapool NEEPCO Colony.
August brought more supplies to Assam. On August 7, 2,000 kits arrived at the Sivasagar District Commissioner's Relief Distribution Centre. On August 11, Amazon-backed teams delivered 300 hygiene and 200 ration kits to Bhadhara, Kikhipam, and Nigo. Jorhat received 2,000 Nestlé-backed kits on August 10. Nagaland saw 1,000 kits delivered to the Konyak Union Office and Don Bosco School in Mon on August 15. Finally, Charaideo received 1,000 household and 2,000 ration kits on September 1.
AIDA addressed education gaps too. With help from Bosco Gram Vikas Kendra, they issued 1,000 kits to 10 schools in Jorhat on September 2. They followed up on September 3 with 1,000 kits for 15 schools in Sivasagar. Total reach included 46,000 family members and 2,000 students.
AIDA credited local partners for navigating dangerous conditions. "The cooperation of local authorities, community organisations and volunteers was particularly important in ensuring that relief materials reached affected communities, especially where movement and access were disrupted by flooding," AIDA said.
The emergency phase is finished. Long-term recovery remains a heavy burden for families who lost livestock, food stocks, and housing.
