Guwahati: The Rotary Club of Dibrugarh brought relief to flood-stricken Maut Gaon in Sivasagar on Sunday. Teams handed out stainless steel utensils, floor mats, and nutrition packets to 250 residents, specifically targeting pregnant and lactating women.

District Governor of Rotary International District 3240, Asim Kanti Adhikary, traveled from Santiniketan to oversee the operation. He inspected the post-flood damage to plan further aid across the region. "We have witnessed the devastation and seen how people were affected in the flood. Our Rotary International is always there to help the people," said Adhikary.

The event took place at the Nine Story Foundation, led by Rajiv Borgohain. Local leaders and members from Duliajan, Digboi, and Dibrugarh joined the effort, including Nirza Saikia, Kalpana Khound, and former Dibrugarh University faculty member Minoti Das.

Local hero Debojit Tanti earned special recognition during the event. He saved six people, including children, from rising waters. Rotary Club president Amit Jasrasariya felicitated Tanti while Kalpana Khound presented him with a token of appreciation for his bravery.
