Guwahati: The Kamrup District Council of the Communist Party of India (CPI) marked November Revolution Day in Guwahati this week. Veteran party leader Comrade Dambaru Bora led the event. They gathered to honor the historic revolution while pivoting to current regional political fights.

Party officials threw their weight behind students in Arunachal Pradesh. These students are currently protesting the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project on the Siang River. The CPI remains firm in its opposition. The party claims, "The Kamrup District Council sought to highlight issues concerning environmental concerns, public participation in development projects and the welfare of communities affected by natural disasters."

Flood victims in Upper Assam also took center stage. The party demanded immediate compensation and faster rehabilitation for families destroyed by recurring floods. They want the government to provide timely assistance to all households hit by the high water. This event linked global communist ideology to the immediate needs of people losing their homes to disasters.
