Guwahati: Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah started the VCDC-level Khel Maharan 3.0 competitions on November 7. He spoke at the Tamulpur Higher Secondary School playground within the Bodoland Territorial Region. The event draws talent from across the state.

The Department of Sports and Youth Welfare runs this program. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma provided the guidance for the initiative. It now reaches its third edition with high participation levels. The goal is simple: find new athletes at the grassroots level.

Local leaders showed up to support the games. Cabinet colleague Biswajit Daimary joined Tamulpur MLA Victor Kumar Das at the inauguration. Officials noted the program aims to provide young athletes with "opportunities to showcase their talents."
