Guwahati: Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University and the Jyoti Lalita Kanoi Foundation signed an agreement to scout and support athletes in Assam’s rural and remote pockets. Vice-Chancellor Hirendra Nath Sharma and Foundation Trustee Jyoti Prasad Kanoi formalized the deal in Dibrugarh. They aim to break down barriers. The pair will kick off a Sports Talent Hunt Campaign to pluck promising kids from tea gardens and isolated villages to provide them with professional training.

"We are very much hopeful and positive. We will be able to bring out the hidden talent from the village areas, which will be groomed with a professional approach," said Hirendra Nath Sharma. The program focuses on youth who currently lack competitive platforms or coaching. Organizers believe that poverty and geography should not kill a kid's athletic future. By combining the university's technical sports knowledge with the foundation's social mission, they hope to give underserved talent a legitimate shot at success.
