Kohima: Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung hosted a cultural exchange program with CKB Commerce College from Jorhat, Assam, on Friday. The event took place at the FAC Auditorium under the theme Bridging Borders, Celebrating Heritage. Twenty-two students and three faculty members traveled from Assam for the meeting.
Dr. I Wati Imchen, Principal of FAC, welcomed the visitors. He urged the crowd to engage with new perspectives. He noted, "Although customs and cultural practices may differ, the fundamental hopes, aspirations and passions that unite people remain much the same."
Dr. Kironmoy Chetia, IQAC Coordinator at CKB Commerce College, spoke about future growth. He suggested that schools should share ideas and staff to build social awareness. The goal is to push education past classroom walls.
The cultural showcase featured diverse regional acts. The Assam delegation performed a Sattriya classical dance, the Mohabahu Brahmaputra group dance, a Bihu performance, a song by Gyanam Kashyap, and a dance based on a Zubeen Garg track titled Joya Nai. FAC students countered with an ethnic show, a folk fusion piece, the Tsungremmung dance of the Ao Nagas, and the Naknyulum dance of the Chang tribe.
Toshisangla, Convenor of the FAC Cultural Committee, closed the formal session. Participants ended the day with a showcase of Naga traditional games.
