Kohima: Fazl Ali College marked its 67th Foundation Day in Mokokchung on September 8. Students and faculty gathered to celebrate decades of growth. Guest of honor and Senior Superintendent of Police Vesupra Kezo delivered a sharp warning. He cautioned students against the dangers of drug abuse and the unchecked use of technology.
Kezo urged the students to prioritize character and integrity. He spoke plainly about the pitfalls of the digital age. "Information is not wisdom," Kezo noted. He added that Artificial Intelligence should enhance human thinking instead of acting as a threat. The event emphasized that discipline and responsibility must guide every student.
Principal Dr. I Wati Imchen recapped the college's development and recent milestones. The event featured performances from the Music and Drama clubs. Leaders honored several high-achieving students, including university toppers and department award winners.
Thailung Phom secured the 2026 Evangelical Union Student of the Year Award. Aosashi Kichu took home the FAC Alumni Association Award for Student of the Year. Three NCC cadets received recognition for their performance.
Top university performers included Rank 1 winners Temjenmenla Pongen for Ao, Tarenkala Y Lemtur for Geography, and Imlimenla O for Mathematics. Other notable rankings went to Imkongtula Jamir, Merenrenla, Naong Mansa C, Tasakala, Redila, and Tsuktisosang. The ceremony concluded by honoring various academic excellence award recipients from across the departments.
