Fazl Ali College Welcomes Freshers Class of 2026

Kohima: Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung hosted its Freshers' Day on August 18. The event filled the college auditorium under the theme Chasing Dreams. It introduced the incoming Class of 2026 to the school community. The program included a formal address followed by an informal competition to crown the new Mr. and Ms. Fresher.

Principal Dr. I Wati Imchen addressed the students during the formal session. He framed their enrollment as the start of an extraordinary chapter. He pushed the students to look beyond mere degree attainment. Dr. Imchen told the crowd, "Purpose is rarely found by simply sitting in a classroom, but through action, curiosity and engagement." He argued that while classrooms provide basics, daily campus life builds resilience and confidence.

FAC Students' Union General Secretary Imdangmeren spoke to the new arrivals. He reminded them that uncertainty is normal. Students might change their ambitions, so they should keep an open mind throughout their studies. Molongnen Longkumer, representing the BSc 1st Semester students, thanked the college for the hospitality.

The event moved to an informal session featuring four rounds of competition. Participants competed in ethnic, casual, and formal wear, followed by a final question round. Judges selected Molupong Longkumer from the English Department as Mr. Fresher 2026. Langmai Khumla from the History Department won the title of Ms. Fresher 2026. Assistant Social Service Secretary Akumzulu Jamir ended the day with a vote of thanks.
