Kohima: The Nagaland Law Students Federation gathered at Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung on October 27. They pushed for gender equality. The event centered on the theme, "Importance of Women in Litigation, for a Safer Nagaland." It aimed to boost women's roles in the legal field and increase access to justice.
Anjali Adhikari chaired the session. Sentisangla offered the invocation before NLSF president Adv. Neivisielie Rino gave the welcome address. Dr. I. Wati Imchen, the college principal, also spoke. The session featured talks from Mokokchung District Bar Association president Adv. Molodongba Jamir and Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel Adv. Pangjungmanen Longchar.
Speakers demanded more women in litigation. They argued that current barriers, both financial and social, block justice. Attendees learned how to report crimes and seek legal help. The federation warned that gender-based discrimination remains a hurdle. A fair society needs women to take their place in the courtroom. NLSF general secretary Adv. Temsu I. Jamir gave the vote of thanks, and Bendangliba closed the event with a benediction.
