Mokokchung Board Approves New Schools and Society Registrations

Kohima: Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board members met August 27 at the Deputy Commissioner conference hall. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma chaired the session. They reviewed minutes from the last meeting and checked the Action Taken Report. It was a busy day.

The board registered two new local organizations: the Chuchuyimpang Students Union Society and the Woods Foundation located in Kumlong Ward. They also signed off on the renaming of Hills Night High School to Hills High School. The school is moving from Arkong Ward to Nokra Compound in Chuchuyimpang.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Atsungba Walling set the date for an upcoming Inter-Departmental Sports Meet. The event runs from September 29 to October 1, 2026. A 24-member committee now manages the tournament. According to the report, "The session concluded with a vote of thanks from the DC."

The District Project Officer of Land Resources Development gave a presentation on departmental achievements. Officials confirmed the Horticulture Department will showcase their work at the next gathering.
