Kohima: Dimapur officials cleared the Local Area Development Programme for 2026-27 during a July 27 meeting at the Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall. Advisor for Industries and Commerce Hekani Jakhalu chaired the session alongside Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Diana Patton. Dr. Nyanthung Kikon, a state nodal officer, presented the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. He confirmed Dimapur acts as a model district for this health initiative.
The board registered the Covenant Foundation under the Societies Registration Act. They cleared a name change for ITIKI Montessori School to ITIKI School in Darogapathar. Grace Fountain School in Duncan Bosti received approval for an upgrade from Class V to Class VIII. Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School in Milan Mandir secured a grant-in-aid. However, the board deferred a request regarding ownership changes for Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School. Jakhalu demanded consistent attendance. She stated, "Members who were unable to attend should ensure that representatives attended on their behalf."
Meanwhile, the Meluri District Planning and Development Board met at the local Deputy Commissioner Office. Chairman Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe secured unanimous approval for 2026-27 LADP schemes. He pushed departments to collaborate for district growth. Additional Deputy Commissioner Shelly Katiry scheduled mass social work for the third Saturday of each month. The Forest Department also delivered a presentation on its local operations.
