Kohima: The Nagaland Gaonbura Federation Peace Committee fired back at the NSCN/FRGN on Friday. They demanded an immediate, official withdrawal of an October 23 statement issued by the new group. The committee labeled the move immature and unwarranted. They fear it threatens the state's peace.
Naga leaders want unity. The committee noted, "The Naga people do not support the formation of new factions or further fragmentation of the Naga political movement." They insist that internal disputes belong in private dialogue, not in public threats. It is more dignified to retire with honor than to defect.
The NGBF PC claims the NSCN/FRGN statement ignores real political issues. It fails to address the socio-economic needs of the people. The committee called for a fast, honorable solution between the Government of India, the NSCN (IM), and the WC, NNPGs. They warned that negotiations cannot drag on forever. This delay impacts Naga families, students, and workers living across India.
Non-Naga residents remain a priority for the committee. These families have lived in Nagaland since the British colonial era. They have shaped local business, education, and healthcare for generations. The committee refuses to accept dictatorial directives that target these integral members of society. They demand that the state protects this time-tested communal harmony at all costs.
The federation closed with a firm warning. The group stated, "The Naga people deserve peace, not further division; reconciliation, not confrontation; and an honourable political solution, not endless uncertainty."
