It threatened the state’s security and peace. The Forum warned that miscreants or vested interests might be trying to destabilize the region or pull the Manipur conflict into Nagaland. They urged citizens to remain calm, avoid rumors, and ignore provocations designed to break communal harmony.
Law enforcement must find the culprits. The group demanded a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice. Nagaland sits at a defining moment in its history. Hard-won gains from years of dialogue must not be lost to those seeking to derail the collective aspirations of the Naga people.
The Forum also turned its sights on a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 11, 2026. This agreement between India, Assam, and Nagaland concerns oil and gas exploration along the disputed border. The Forum cautioned that the deal could compromise the constitutional, historical, and political rights of the Naga people. They claimed the move amounts to "a complete sellout" that sacrifices the resources of future generations to benefit a few.
State authorities face pressure to act on the Frontier Nagaland Territory issue. The Forum warned that delaying a solution will increase regional polarization, erode public trust, and cause frustration. Government leaders must demonstrate the will to finish this process in good faith. The group called on churches, tribal bodies, civil society organizations, youth groups, and state officials to unite. They need to secure lasting stability and inclusive development for the younger generation.
