Kohima: A Hyderabad native died Sunday from wounds suffered during Saturday's attack on Riyadh's main airport. This strike remains one of the most lethal assaults on the facility this week. The Indian Embassy confirmed the death and stated they are assisting with the repatriation of his body.
Eleven Indians were caught in the blast. Ten remain wounded in local hospitals. Indian Embassy officials are coordinating with Saudi authorities to monitor the recovery of the victims. Saudi officials confirmed at least 13 people are dead and over 300 are injured.
The death toll spans several nations. Victims include four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshis, and individuals from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Sudan, and Palestine. Riyadh officials blamed Houthi militants for the assault.
India's Ministry of External Affairs denounced the strike on civilian infrastructure. The Ministry issued a firm statement regarding the violence: "Repeated attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia were unacceptable and had to stop at once."
India remains committed to supporting Saudi sovereignty. The government hopes for a swift return to peace. The embassy previously issued an advisory last Thursday, urging all Indian citizens to stay indoors and follow local security instructions.
