Kohima: Advisor for Social Welfare Wangpang Konyak opened an amphitheater at Highland Park in Kohima on Tuesday. He also turned on a series of Social Welfare Department assets across Nagaland through a virtual ceremony. These additions include an officers quarter in Kohima and two Sakhi-One Stop Centre buildings in Noklak and Shamator under Mission Shakti. The state now hosts new Observation Homes in Kohima, Mokokchung, Kiphire, Tuensang, Wokha, and Zunheboto, alongside a Special Home in Chozuba, Phek district, built under Mission Vatsalya.
Konyak credited Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for the infrastructure gains. He demanded that locals protect these sites. "Citizens should develop a sense of ownership towards the infrastructure, as the assets had been created with public funds for the benefit of society," Konyak said. He praised the staff and district administrators for finishing the work.
Social Welfare Director Tosheli Zhimomi credited the Nagaland government and the Ministry of Women and Child Development for funding the construction. Engineering teams and district officials managed the site builds. Secretary Limawabang Jamir noted that these buildings show the government is working to improve social services for those in need. State Chaplain Rev. Izieteilung Terieng led a prayer during the event. PWD engineer Er. I. Talisunep Jamir filed the technical report, while Deputy Director Tauhong Ngonyen chaired the meeting and Hebou Rio gave the final thanks.
