Agartala: Jitendra Chaudhury fired a warning shot on Sunday, August 9. The Tripura CPI(M) state secretary promised to block any attempt to run a Special Intensive Revision of voter lists like those seen in West Bengal and Bihar. The Election Commission plans to start this revision in Tripura on September 5. Chaudhury claims the current push is a dirty trick.

He blamed Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for a new method designed to trim the rolls and favor the BJP. Chaudhury warned the public to watch the process closely. He fears the BJP-led coalition is rigging the books to lock in a win for the 2028 Tripura Assembly elections. "The party wants no valid elector left out of the final electoral rolls, and any attempt to repeat what we have seen in West Bengal and Bihar will be resisted with the help of the people," Chaudhury said.

The opposition leader also hit out at the BJP and its partner, the Tipra Motha Party. He demanded both groups reveal their seat-sharing pact for the upcoming TTAADC Village Committee polls. Chaudhury claims these parties are hiding their true motives from voters. He wants full disclosure to prevent the public from being misled.
