Agartala: The Tripura BJP is launching a massive statewide booth verification drive. It kicks off August 18. State president Abhishek Debroy ordered the move to shore up weak and inactive units before the next village council elections. Workers must hit their targets by August 24, 2026.

Party leaders issued an urgent notification on August 16 to set the wheels in motion. They want to identify failing infrastructure and plug gaps with new personnel. The directive is strict: anyone assigned to booth duty cannot hold other administrative or organizational roles. This ensures total focus on the ground game.

A five-member State Booth Verification Team will run the show. State vice-president Tapas Bhattacharya serves as convenor. Co-convenors include state secretaries Nabadal Banik and Bhumika Nanda Reang, chairman Abhijit Deb, and former district president Debabrata Bhattacharjee. These leaders have divided the state: Bhattacharya covers Sadar Urban and Rural, Banik handles Unakoti and North Tripura, and Reang manages Khowai and Dhalai. Deb oversees Gomati and South Tripura, while Bhattacharjee tracks Sepahijala North and South.

Every district must form a three-member committee. Mandal-level teams will follow suit under district in-charges. The party claims this push is essential for success. As noted in the directive, "booths found inactive or weak will undergo organisational restructuring." With this sweep, the BJP aims to consolidate its base and sharpen its discipline for upcoming political fights.
