Agartala: The Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura executed a sweeping organizational reshuffle on July 21. State president and MLA Abhishek Debroy issued the orders after securing approval from the party high command, specifically Nitin Nabin and other national leaders. This represents the first major change since Debroy assumed his role as state president.
New faces take the stage. The party aims to harden its grip on the state through this blend of veterans and newcomers. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and various cabinet ministers extended their congratulations to the incoming team.
Arindam Deb, previously the social media in-charge, steps up to lead the Yuva Morcha, replacing MLA Sushanta Deb. Mousumi Das replaces former MLA Mimi Majumder as the Mahila Morcha president, while Majumder transitions to a role as state secretary.
The broader state committee now features six vice-presidents: Tapas Bhattacharya, Amit Rakshit, Ratan Ghosh, Uttara Debbarma, Tapas Majumder, and Ajanta Bhattacharjee. Three general secretaries take office: MLA Bhagaban Ch. Das, Bipin Debbarma, and IT in-charge Chandan Debnath.
Six additional secretaries join the ranks: Bhumika Nanda Reang, Kamal Dey, Nabadal Banik, Mimi Majumder, Malina Debnath, and Rathindra Jamatia. Financial and administrative duties fall to treasurer Nagadhiraj Datta, joint treasurer M.K. Nath, and office secretary Mihir Sarkar.
Other frontal organization heads include Abhijit Debbarma for the ST Morcha, Bapi Das for the SC Morcha, and Sukanta Ghosh for the OBC Morcha. Pradip Baran Roy heads the Kisan Morcha, and Billal Mia oversees the Minority Morcha. Party leadership confirmed that these appointments take immediate effect, stating the move "seeks to strengthen the BJP's organisational base across Tripura."
