Agartala: The Tripura BJP is overhauling its local operations. Party president Abhishek Debroy launched the statewide effort on August 2 to secure a heavy victory in the upcoming local body polls. He visited Unakoti district to gauge the strength of party networks on the ground.
Debroy brought a heavy-hitting team along for the mission. Ministers Tinku Roy and Santana Chakma joined General Secretary Bhagaban Das and other senior officials to map out the election strategy. They met with local workers to pick apart current shortcomings and fix them fast. The team plans to target weak spots before the vote for village committees, Nagar Panchayats, and municipal councils begins.
"Several important elections are ahead of us, including village committee, Nagar Panchayat and municipal council elections. We are discussing the steps needed to overcome weaknesses and ensure victory with a huge mandate," Debroy said. He confirmed that review meetings are rolling out in every district.
The push follows a productive visit to North Tripura district. Debroy claimed the support there fired up the party base. The goal remains simple. They want to tighten their organizational grip and keep workers in lockstep before the polls arrive.
