Agartala: New Tripura BJP president Abhishek Debroy wants a mix of youth and experience. He launched his first district tour Thursday at Bishalgarh to rally the troops for the 2028 Assembly elections. The party needs the energy of new voters and the steady hand of veterans. Debroy addressed a massive crowd at the New Town Hall in Sepahijala district.
The event drew a wide crowd. Attendees included local MLAs, mandal committee members, and municipal representatives. Debroy joined MLA Sushanta Deb to pay respects to the statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya before the meeting. The day started with a motorcycle rally led by the BJP Yuva Morcha from Gokulnagar to the Kasbeswari temple.
"We have to work together and prepare for the 2028 elections by taking along both young and senior workers," Debroy told the party members. He demanded strict discipline and respect for women. Misconduct will trigger disciplinary action. He also proposed forming senior citizen committees at every polling booth to tap into their local knowledge.
State vice-president Tapas Bhattacharjee joined the push, focusing on the goal of a developed India by 2047. He warned the staff to stay sharp against those spreading instability. Other notable figures at the conference included MLAs Antara Sarkar Deb, Nabadal Banik, Biplab Chakraborty, Supriya Das Datta, Anjan Purkayastha, and Birendra Kishore Debbarma.
