Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha opened 11 development projects worth 105.73 crore on July 14. He spoke at Rajarshi Hall in the Gomati district. The state aims to boost infrastructure and medical services. Saha declared, "Our main agenda is development."
Saha said his administration follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi to drive welfare and growth. The state earmarked 10,000 crore for infrastructure work. Last year, the CM launched projects totaling 1,500 crore. He added 121 crore more so far this financial year.
Healthcare remains a top priority. Non-communicable diseases like cancer, diabetes, and hypertension cause many deaths in Tripura. The state now screens 15 lakh residents annually aged over 30 to catch illnesses early. New programs like the Mukhyamantri Niramaya Arogya Abhiyan, the Stop Diarrhoea initiative, and a lab network now serve patients under a hub and spoke model. These facilities stop patients from traveling outside the state for tests.
The government recently upgraded a 50-bed civil hospital with round the clock outpatient services. It plans to copy this model in 19 municipal and Nagar Panchayat areas. Saha promised to upgrade government hospitals to meet corporate standards. State growth remains strong. The Gross State Domestic Product is up, and Tripura earned over 350 national awards.
