Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha rolled out 11 development projects worth Rs 105.73 crore in the Gomati district. The move targets education, sports, roads, and administration. Saha pushed a heavy growth agenda at Rajarshi Hall in Udaipur. He said, "Our main agenda is development." The work aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the state.

Saha is betting big on public health. The state launched the Sustho Tripura mission to catch non-communicable diseases early. Officials aim to screen 15 lakh residents over age 30 annually. Doctors are looking for hypertension, diabetes, COPD, cancer, chronic kidney disease, and alcoholic fatty liver disease. The government is also pushing the Mukhyamantri Niramaya Arogya Abhiyan, a new lab network, and a Stop Diarrhoea program.

The lab network already saves patients from traveling out of state for tests. A local civil hospital upgraded from 50 beds to a full-service facility with 24/7 outpatient care. Saha plans to mimic this corporate-style model across 19 other municipal and Nagar Panchayat areas. He stressed that his government keeps a sharp focus on the public.

Capital expenditure is rising. The state set aside Rs 10,000 crore for future infrastructure. Last year saw Rs 1,500 crore in projects started. This year, the state has already cleared over Rs 121 crore. Saha credited the HIRA model for the recent rise in Gross State Domestic Product. Tripura has secured over 350 national awards.
