Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha participated in the traditional Ker Puja on Tuesday. The event occurred at the Rajbari premises in Agartala. This festival remains a key part of the state's indigenous heritage.
The rituals center on worshiping the Vastu Devata. It is serious business. Dr. Saha told reporters at the Ujjayanta Palace complex that the puja seeks protection for state residents against natural calamities, epidemics, and evil forces. Participants pray for peace and general well-being.
The ceremony involves drawing a sacred line around a specific area. Movement into and out of this zone stays restricted while the rituals continue. Dr. Saha noted that his government respects these royal-era traditions and indigenous cultural practices.
The Chief Minister shared his vision for the state. "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas," he said, citing the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged all citizens to maintain harmony and unity. BJP Tripura President and MLA Abhishek Debroy attended the ceremony alongside other dignitaries.
