Agartala: Surrendered extremists in Tripura are planning a wave of protests. They demand action on long-standing promises. Failure to resolve these issues by August 28 will spark hunger strikes and blockades. Between 40 and 50 members have already organized for the push. They insist this movement is independent of any political party.
The group intends to set up a hunger strike at Sadhupara Bridge. They also plan to halt vehicles on the highway. Blockades will target railway tracks at Jirania and Birgodas. The group says they will keep the protest going even if numbers drop. They feel burned by empty talk. Officials previously promised to fix the situation in 72 hours, but nearly two months passed without results.
Frustration hit a breaking point after a scheduled meeting on August 21. One participant showed up for talks, but no officials arrived. The protesters now demand more than just words. They need a solid decision before the next scheduled meeting on August 28. As one leader stated, "This is not about personal gain. It is about securing what is rightfully ours." If the state fails to deliver, the agitators promised to escalate their movement immediately.
