Dimapur Poultry Union Fights Back Against Assam Vehicle Inspections

Kohima: Dimapur District Poultry Suppliers Union is taking a stand. They reject a syndicate system dominating the local trade and are firing back at Assam motor vehicle inspectors. These inspectors intercepted poultry trucks near Bokajan and Khatkhati police stations late Tuesday night.

President Khekishe Aye and general secretary Lashito Awomi say the stops are selective. Some trucks left after paying fines, but others remained stuck. The union argues that officials are unfairly targeting them for overloading and vehicle modifications. These barriers choke off supply chains.

The union demands better coordination between departments and wants all enforcement to follow standard rules. They have fought this syndicate before. They refuse to back down now.

The union leaders stated, "We are ready to even go on strike or handle it diplomatically in a proper way." They want a transparent, fair system for moving goods. If the region fails to fix these issues, the union vows to launch democratic protests.
