Agartala: Enforcement Directorate officials swarmed Agartala on Wednesday. They raided the home and business of local trader Shahjahan Miah. The team hit his residence near Western Club on Akhaura Road and his storefront in the busy Battala Fitting Market. Central security forces secured the sites. Agents moved in during the early hours to stop him from hiding anything.
Investigators are digging into claims of illegal cash flow and suspicious foreign dealings. They monitored Miah for days before striking. The operation happened without help from Tripura Police. Officers caught the local force off guard. Miah sat through hours of questioning at both locations. Agents left no stone unturned. They walked away with stacks of documents and various materials for further analysis.
No major cash or contraband surfaced by Wednesday afternoon. Miah remains in the dark about the probe. He told reporters, "I was unaware of the reasons behind the ED's action." The agency has not filed an official statement yet. Analysts suggest the seized files could link the trader to illicit cross-border networks. The probe continues as Agartala traders scramble for answers.
