Agartala: Tripura government officials gathered Friday at the Smart Training Centre inside IT Bhavan to sharpen their social media presence. Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, led the session. He told the room that news hits screens long before it hits print. Social media moves fast. Agencies must keep their digital channels active to track the pulse of the public.

Gitte warned that misleading posts create dangerous misconceptions about state work. He expects departments to fire back with facts immediately. Content must align strictly with government initiatives. He urged staff to be careful with every post and warned them to define exactly who manages uploads. "Social media had become an important medium in the present technology-driven era," Gitte said.

Proper hashtags and tags are mandatory to boost visibility. The workshop aimed to kill off official hesitation regarding digital platforms. Information and Cultural Affairs Department Director Bimbisar Bhattacharjee and IT Director Jeya Regal Geshan B. walked nodal officers through better management techniques. Teams from various departments attended to learn how to handle the Task Monitoring System. The government plans to host these training sessions in every district across the state soon.
