Itanagar: Crews in Kurung Kumey district restored access to the Damin-Huri border outpost. A flash flood destroyed a bridge on July 13. The area was cut off. Deputy Commissioner Cheechung Chukhu led the effort alongside the 85 Road Construction Company. The team fought through relentless rain and rough terrain. They built a temporary log bridge to move people and gear.
Local residents helped the construction teams finish the job. The district Quick Response Team deployed to Damin-Huri and Parsi Parlo to track damages. They met with locals to deliver immediate aid. The flood had crippled all movement for residents and officials. Maintaining a path to this frontier region remains a top priority. Essential supplies and emergency vehicles are moving again.
Authorities warned the public to stay cautious as the monsoon drags on. Heavy rains continue to threaten the area with landslides. Restoration crews remain on standby. Officials stated, "The district administration has also appealed to the public to remain alert during the ongoing monsoon season, warning that continued heavy rainfall could trigger more flash floods and landslides."
