Itanagar: Likha Maaj wants better tech for farmers. The lead promoter of Green Gold Integrated Farm has offered 10 acres of his own land to the Arunachal Pradesh government. He wants the state to use this space to push tissue culture and agricultural biotechnology forward.
Maaj made the offer after visiting AG Biotech Laboratories (I) Ltd. He believes the state should stop sending officials on expensive overseas trips. He thinks local labs offer better value. "Farmers, rather than only government officials, should be given opportunities to visit advanced agricultural laboratories and institutions in India to gain practical knowledge of modern farming techniques," Maaj said.
The entrepreneur argues that tissue culture provides uniform planting material. This tech helps manage diseases and boosts total crop output. He expects these tools to increase state farm incomes while strengthening the horticulture sector. Maaj is now waiting for the government to review his proposal and build a facility that brings these advancements directly to the field.
