Itanagar: The Border Roads Organisation restored vital access to Huri in Arunachal Pradesh. A flash flood destroyed the local bridge on July 11. The district of Kurung Kumey went dark. Isolation choked off food, medicine, and emergency response for the local population.
Project Arunank handled the heavy lifting. Personnel from the 85 Road Construction Company and the 756 Border Roads Task Force moved in on a mission mode. They built a 200-foot Bailey Bridge. The terrain fought them every step of the way. Constant rain turned soil to soup. Swift currents battered the foundation work. Fresh landslides blocked the route time and time again.
Crews cleared massive mudslides to get equipment to the site. They repaired torn roads and prepped new access points. The team pushed through the weather to finish the job. Residents finally have their link back to the outside world.
The bridge restores life to the region. It brings hope for health care and reliable supply chains. Huri residents voiced their appreciation for the work, noting that the "restoration of road connectivity was crucial for their daily livelihoods and access to essential services."
