Nagaland braces for four days of storms and heavy rain

Kohima: The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority predicts thunderstorms, lightning, and rain across the state through July 18. Expect light to moderate rainfall starting July 15. Mon and Longleng face the threat of heavy downpours that day. The agency told residents to "remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions."

Conditions ease slightly on July 16. Still, Kohima, Noklak, Peren, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Zunheboto will see light to moderate rain. Noklak and Zunheboto should also prepare for intermittent showers.

Storms return with more intensity on July 17. Kohima, Longleng, Mokokchung, Noklak, Phek, Shamator, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Zunheboto remain in the crosshairs. Officials urge caution for those living in landslide or waterlogging zones.
