Longleng and Phek see light rain on August 18. Dimapur and Peren expect localized thunderstorms. The activity shifts on August 19 to Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, and Shamator. By August 20, the rain hits Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Zunheboto. The final day on August 21 brings coverage to Chümoukedima, Kiphire, Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Tseminyu, Tuensang, Wokha, and Zunheboto.
Rainfall totals vary by district. Longleng leads with 81.15 mm expected, while Mokokchung follows with 59.85 mm. Peren expects 51.72 mm and Tuensang counts 50.67 mm. Mon receives 47.26 mm, Wokha gets 46.78 mm, and Tseminyu reaches 43.98 mm. Other areas record between 18.15 mm and 41.12 mm.
Authorities urge caution. Roads will be slippery. Visibility will drop. The agency issued a clear directive: "The public has been advised to monitor the latest weather updates through the Safer Nagaland mobile application and the NSDMA Weather Portal, and to follow official advisories during thunderstorms and periods of rainfall." Residents in landslide-prone zones must stay alert. Drivers should drive carefully on vulnerable mountain stretches.
