Kohima: The India Meteorological Department expects a wet week. Heavy to very heavy rainfall will hammer the Northeast region over the next two days. Isolated heavy rain will persist for five days after that. The agency expects widespread rain across Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from August 5 through August 10.
Thunderstorms and lightning will also hit those four states between August 5 and August 8. The forecast predicts heavy rain will remain a threat through the end of that period. Rain hits hard. The Meteorological Centre in Kohima issued specific warnings for tomorrow, August 5. They expect heavy to very heavy downpours in Kohima. Mon, Longleng, Peren, and Wokha face heavy rainfall between 7 and 11 centimeters within a 24-hour window.
