East Khasi Hills Mandates Aadhaar Verification for Subsidized Gas

Shillong: East Khasi Hills residents need to clear biometric Aadhaar authentication to keep their subsidized cooking gas. The local Deputy Commissioner for Supply dropped the mandate effective October 1. Connections will be blocked for anyone who skips the verification. No more refills will reach your kitchen until the paperwork is squared away.

You do not need to do this twice if you are already authenticated. You have three ways to finish the process. Catch the delivery person at your door, drop by your local LPG distributor, or log into your oil company app. Use IndianOil ONE for Indane, HelloBPCL for Bharat Gas, or HP PAY for HP Gas.

The government is firm on this requirement for anyone wanting the regulated Retail Selling Price. Those who cannot or will not participate have another path. You can use the apps to buy non-subsidized 5 kg or 10 kg cylinders at market rates. Availability of these tanks depends on local stock levels. As the official notice states, "Connections of consumers who fail to complete the verification will be blocked from booking further refills until the process is completed."
