Western Sumi Hoho Condemns Police Officer for Gun Threat

Kohima: The Western Sumi Hoho expressed outrage following a firearm incident in Naga United Village on August 1. Blessto Zhimo, a police officer from Ghukiye village, allegedly drew his weapon and threatened a delivery worker named Khruvota, who hails from Dzulhami village. The organization blasted the move as a major violation of public trust. It demanded accountability for the reckless behavior.

The WSH media cell issued a sharp statement regarding the encounter. "No individual, especially someone earning an honest living, should ever have to face intimidation or fear for their life while performing daily duties," they noted. The group fears such aggression undermines the long-standing bond between the Chakhesang and Sumi tribes.

Officials labeled the act entirely unacceptable and unjustifiable. The Hoho apologized to the victim and his family, pledging full support during the aftermath. They warned that any further attempts to disturb peace or misuse authority will face firm consequences.
