Kohima: The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises held an awareness program at Pranab College in Dimapur on August 18. This event, titled Empowering Youth, Enabling Enterprise, brought together students to discuss the realities of running a business. Pranabnanda Education Society and the college Career Guidance and Counselling Cell teamed up to host the sessions. Swami Chinmayanandji Maharaj opened the day before Principal Dr. Santosh Kumar offered his remarks.
Experts broke down the steps for launching local ventures. Kapil Rai of the MSME office detailed various government support mechanisms for new founders. He told attendees they must understand how to use these tools to build sustainable companies. Jethro Mesan from the District Industries Centre explained how local policies provide incentives for expansion. The students took part in an open interaction to clarify their options.
Business owner Aolemba of Country Craft offered a look at the hurdles facing startups in Nagaland. He stressed that success requires “perseverance, innovation and adaptability” in a tough market. Lipokakum from the Central Bank of India walked the group through financial modeling and the nuts and bolts of getting a business loan. Rupa Dutta closed the session with a vote of thanks before the group moved to refreshments.
