Lions Club of Dimapur Elite Hosts Youth Summer Camp

Kohima: The Lions Club of Dimapur Elite hosted a summer camp for local kids on August 5. The event took place at the P.K. Travels Building in Dimapur. Children aged 5 to 13 attended the day-long session. They split into two brackets: Group A for the 5 to 8-year-olds and Group B for those aged 9 to 13.

Kids rotated through a packed schedule. They tried dance, Zumba, and art projects. The agenda included public speaking, show-and-tell, and clay molding. Instructors taught fireless cooking and table manners alongside financial literacy and AI learning. They also made gratitude cards and jars.

Club leadership ran the show. President Lion Ritika Jain, Secretary Lion Sakshi Binaykia, and Project Chairperson Lion Shweta Mundra directed the event. They had support from club members. Organizers aimed to build confidence and teamwork. They wanted to provide an interactive platform for practical life skills. The group stated, "The programme was aimed at providing children with an interactive platform to develop creativity, confidence, teamwork and practical life skills while learning in a fun environment."

Dignitaries watched the opening ceremony. Attendees included DG Lion Neena Dutta, ZC Lion Sanjay Jaiswal, and GLT Lion Neeta Agarwal. GST Lion Sumita Sharma, LCIF Lion Neeraj Kala, and DC Lion Sandeep Bakliwal also appeared. Lion P.K. Jain, Lion Rohit Jain, and 1st Gentleman Rishi Jain rounded out the guest list. These leaders praised the project and urged the kids to dive into the activities.
