Kohima: ICFAI University Nagaland sent 530 students into the workforce on Tuesday. The school held its fourth convocation to mark the occasion. Forty-six students walked away with gold medals. Another five earned distinctions. One student received a Certificate of Merit.

Dr. Damodar Reddy, Professor and Dean at IFHE Hyderabad, served as the guest of honour. He credited the faculty and staff for their work. The ICFAI Society now runs 11 universities nationwide. This includes five campuses across the Northeast in Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Tripura. Reddy said the group focuses on providing accessible and affordable higher education to remote and tribal communities. He told the students to be good citizens. "Contribute to society, and play a role in nation building," he said.

Associate Dean Dr. Kevizonuo Kuolie presided over the ceremony. The event included the Chancellor, the Board of Governors, and the Board of Management. Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Kumar Aditya opened the floor. He gave a welcome address and presented the official university report. The Associate Dean read a prepared address from the Governor of Nagaland. Aditya then conferred the degrees. Dignitaries handed out the remaining awards before students took their formal pledge. The Registrar gave a final vote of thanks to close the day.

The event took place at the university campus in Sovima on October 6. The graduating class spanned three separate batches from 2024, 2025, and 2026. The group included 320 undergraduates, 209 postgraduates, and one PhD recipient.

Dr. Damodar Reddy credited the vision of ICFAI founder NJ Yasaswy for the university expansion efforts in the Northeast. The Governor’s message specifically challenged the new graduates to pursue entrepreneurship and find opportunities in sectors like technology, research, tourism, and agriculture. The address pushed students to become job creators rather than job seekers.
