Kohima: Group 4 Ethos took top honors at the Cultural and Literary Day held at St Joseph University in Dimapur on September 30. The event, hosted by the Department of Social Work, drew 83 students, six faculty members, and three research scholars. Participants gathered under the theme, "Remembering our Stories, Reclaiming our Roots."
The competition grid was packed. Students faced off in folk songs, painting, folk drama, and folk dance. They also vied for the Mr and Miss Ethnic titles. Outside, the energy shifted toward physical grit. The roster of outdoor events included high jump, bamboo walking, traditional fire making, war cry, and a tug of war.
Rev. Fr. Dr. L. Anish, the university PRO, opened the day. He urged the crowd to protect their traditions. He told the students to, "preserve and practise cultural values while focusing on self-development in the age of social media."
Dr. Janet Gonmei, the student advisor, announced the final results to close the event. Impe Albert M. Kheang, the general secretary, finished with a vote of thanks. Michael N. Lotha, a BSW V student, offered the final benediction.
