Kohima: MY Bharat and the MGM College NSS Unit hosted the Viksit Bharat Young Leader Dialogue 2027 in Dimapur on November 4. The competition challenged local students to debate national issues. It focused on building independent thinkers.
Eagle Crest CEO Temjenkala Aier served as the chief guest. She pushed the students to step up. "Youth should not remain passive observers of social and national developments but should have the courage to question, reflect, challenge conventional perspectives and engage meaningfully in issues concerning the future of the nation," Aier said.
The event split participants into Junior and Senior brackets. Wangshichila Longkumer from MGM Higher Secondary School took first place in the Junior bracket. Wanle Moinyik, also of MGM Higher Secondary, took second. In the Senior category, Reshangdi Jidung of SD Jain College grabbed the top spot, while Jahir Uddin from Pranab College finished second. Jidung and Uddin will move on to the state-level competition to represent Dimapur.
A panel of five judges graded the performances. The lineup included Aier, Elmie K. Rengma of ICFAI University, advocate Priya Shyam, Dr. Patrick Praveen Dukpa of St. Joseph University, and MGM College principal Dr. R.K. Behera.
