Shillong: NIT Meghalaya is hiring for three support staff roles in 2026. Interested candidates have until 11:45 P.M. on December 21, 2026, to submit their applications online at the official institute website.
The institute needs one Junior Assistant. Applicants must hold a senior secondary degree, type at least 35 words per minute, and master computer spreadsheets. While not required, officials noted: "Proficiency in other computer skills; stenography skills" remain desirable for this role.
One Technician position is open within the Civil Engineering Department. Candidates need a science-based senior secondary education with 60 percent marks, or a 50 percent score plus a one-year ITI course in the field. Applicants with a two-year ITI certificate or a three-year diploma in civil engineering also qualify.
The school also seeks one Lab Attendant for the Mechanical Engineering workshop. Candidates for this spot must have completed senior secondary schooling in science. The upper age limit for all applicants is 27 years.
Applying for the Junior Assistant role costs 200 rupees. However, female candidates, those with disabilities, or applicants from SC and ST backgrounds pay nothing if they provide valid certificates from a competent authority.
