Shillong: Captain Williamson Sangma State University in Meghalaya is hunting for talent. The school needs 149 new faculty members to fill positions across its departments for 2026. This recruitment drive covers the roles of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor.
Professors have 18 slots open, with one position available in each discipline: Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Education, English, Environmental Science, Geography, History, Khasi, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology, and Zoology. Applicants need a Ph.D. and ten years of teaching experience. They must also show at least ten research publications with a total score of 120.
The university also needs 43 Associate Professors. Vacancies include five spots in Commerce, English, and Social Work, with three each in Economics, Education, Geography, History, Khasi, Philosophy, Political Science, and Sociology. Physics, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Anthropology, Mathematics, and Environmental Science each get one slot. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and have eight years of research or teaching experience, plus seven publications.
Finally, there are 88 openings for Assistant Professors. The distribution matches the Associate Professor breakdown exactly. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree with 55 percent marks. The school notes, "5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer." Candidates usually need to clear the NET, CSIR-NET, SLET, or SET exams to qualify. Those with a Ph.D. meet the requirement without these tests.

SC, ST, and OBC applicants pay 500 rupees. Payments must be processed online through the official recruitment portal.
