NIT Meghalaya Announces Tech and Admin Openings for 2026

Shillong: The National Institute of Technology Meghalaya is hiring staff for its upcoming language translation project. The initiative, titled ISHAAN, works on bidirectional machine translation between English and languages including Assamese, Bodo, Manipuri, and Nepali. It also covers pairings between Manipuri and Hindi, and Assamese and Bodo under the National Language Translation Mission: BHASINI.

NIT Meghalaya needs two Senior Research Associates at a salary of 60,000 rupees per month. These roles require an M.Tech or M.E. in Computer Science, IT, or Artificial Intelligence with a focus on Natural Language Processing and Machine Translation. The school also seeks two Junior Research Associates at 40,000 rupees monthly. Those candidates must hold an M.Tech, M.E., or MCA in similar fields with a specialization in Natural Language Processing.

The department is also hiring one Office Assistant. The salary for this role is 30,000 rupees. Applicants need a BE, BTech, or MCA in Computer Science or IT. Candidates should be under 35 years old at the time of the interview.
