Kohima: The Dorians Society is hosting the 5th Dorians Society Spelling Bee on October 31. Students from government and private schools across the Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts are invited to compete. Schools can send two representatives from Classes 7 and 8 alongside one teacher-coordinator.
Registration costs Rs 200 for private school students. Government school students pay nothing. The submission deadline is October 23. Everyone must arrive by 9:30 am to handle check-in formalities at the Kingdom Culture Church. The venue sits in Vikiye Complex on Tajen Ao Road, located across from the Notun Basti junction.
Competitors get two minutes for each word. They can ask for the meaning, part of speech, etymology, or an example. A panel of judges and moderators oversees the rounds. The committee stated that the event "aims to promote healthy competition among students and provide them with a platform to compete at bigger stages."
The top three spellers earn cash prizes and citations. Organizers are taking questions at 9436079538 or 8974037334.
